Electricity & Magnetism
The following activities are part of the SeeK workshop on electricity & magnetism:
Human Circuits involves a simple explanation of electrons, electricity and circuits. These topics are illustrated by making the children act as electrons on a large circuit diagram on the floor.
Fun House consists of a basic explanation of series and parallel circuits and an opportunity for the children to design the circuits for some simple devices that could be used in a house (e.g. burglar alarm, rain detector, stair light, fridge light etc.).
Filing Fun is an activity intended to introduce and demonstrate the concept of magnetic fields using magnets, iron filings and compasses.
