Fundraising, donations and legacies
The Department has been at the forefront of Materials Science and Metallurgy for over 70 years. This has been achieved by the outstanding quality of the students and the staff over this time and their access to excellent facilities. In order to maintain this position the Department continues to seek financial support to improve its facilities and endow a Sir Alan Cottrell Professorship in perpetuity.
