Cambridge Philosophical Society
The Society will consider applications from members for a limited number of grants for travel within and outside the United Kingdom to attend conferences, visit laboratories and conduct fieldwork.
Nationality: Any
Membership: Required
Age Restrictions: None
Status: PhD and Post-Doc
Other: Membership required for at least 1 year prior to application. Closing dates for applications are the 1st November, the 1st February and the 1st May.

UK Resource Centre for Women
The travel bursaries offered by the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science Engineering and Technology (UKRC) are intended to help women in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) to attend a conference or an event that will benefit their career.
Nationality: UK nationals/Have the right to remian and work in the UK.
Membership: Not required
Age Restrictions: 19 and over
Status: Studying/Working in SET fields.
Other: Only one application every three years.

The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining
Small grants from the Andrew Carnegie Research Fund and the Metals and Metallurgy Trust are available to help younger members of Institute with the expense involved in travelling long distances to conferences, normally outside their country of residence.

The Royal Academy of Engineering
The scheme is open to postgraduate students, doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, academic staff involved in research, in UK higher education institutions and chartered engineers in UK industry.

Other: Grants upto 50% of approved conference costs available. Applications should be submitted at least 4 weeks before departure.

Your Cambridge College
Most cambridge colleges are able to offer small grants to graduate students to contribute towards research expenses, e.g. for the attendance of conferences, or for fieldwork essential to their research.

Institute of Physics
The Institute of Physics provides support to students to contribute toward attendance at conferences through the Research Student Conference Fund (RSCF). Students may apply to receive up to £250 from the RSCF during the course of their PhD (not necessarily all at once)
