Department research facilities
The Department houses a wide range of specialist research equipment housed in a number of processing and measurement facilities. Many of the facilities are managed by one or more of the research groups in the Department. The list below is far from complete, but gives an indication of the scope of the facilities available to researchers
- Composite materials fabrication and analysis equipment
- Electrical and magnetic measurements laboratory
- Electron microscopy facility
- Mechanical testing and Camtec facility
- Nanoscience Centre clean rooms
- Polymer characterisation laboratory
- Thin film deposition laboratory
- X-ray facility
- Raman Spectroscope
Ther are also a number of other facilities for use by members of the department such as workshop, electronics and photographic support. Details of these are found on the intranet.
