The 4th CAMatNet meeting brings together scientists in Cambridge who are working in the broad area of Smart Materials. Smart materials respond to changes in their environment by undergoing material property changes. This response can be leveraged to create an actuator or sensor device. The central theme of the meeting will be to explore how smart materials can be designed and assembled from the bottom-up, integrated with interfaces and used to build functional devices.

The Smart Materials meeting will explore functional properties of intelligent or responsive materials and how these can be controlled for applications in fields as diverse as photonics, bio-medicine, and energy, to name a few. Speakers are from across a wide spectrum of Cambridge departments with a mix of established and early-career researchers. The meeting will be an excellent opportunity to make new contacts, re-kindle existing ones and to network with others in the field of Smart Materials.
