The Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy extends its heartfelt congratulations to Professor Dame Helen Helen Atkinson CBE, FREng who has been recognised with a Damehood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021 for services to engineering and education.  Helen is a Cambridge alumna, graduating from the Natural Sciences Tripos with a first class degree with a specialism in Materials Science & Metallurgy.  She is currently Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University's School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing.
