On 27th September 2023, the Device Materials Group will hold their Femincam meeting at Trinity College. Femincam is a celebration of the emerging women in science and leaders in electronic materials, across the departments of Materials Science & Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge.  The meeting will discuss EDI challenges that they might face in their careers and the changing landscape in this respect.  The programme includes talks from emerging female leaders, poster sessions, as well as EDI talks, and will culminate in a round table discussion featuring high profile senior female leaders discussing their career experiences. The panel will include Dame Prof. Clare Grey (Chemistry) and Prof. Valerie Gibson OBE (Physics) as well as an industry leader from Applied Materials, Dr. Connie Wang. There will be an evening dinner at which Dame Prof. Sally Davies, first female Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, and former first female Chief Medical Officer in the UK will give a talk about her career experiences.

The Femincam event will also celebrate 60 years of the Device Materials Group within the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy, which is now under an all-female leadship team comprising Prof. Judith Driscoll, Prof. Sohini Kar-Narayan and Dr. Giuliana Di Martino, and champion the diverse group of researchers that work within the group.
