Admission of graduate students for the PhD, EngD or MPhil degree is co-ordinated by the University’s Board of Graduate Studies, 4 Mill Lane, Cambridge, CB2 1RZ. Applications may be made on paper, or online (for which a charge is payable). The deadline for applications is three months before the start of the first term of the course (30 June, 30 September and 31 December for starts in October, January and April respectively).
Further details of the application procedure, and the Graduate Studies Prospectus, are available from the Graduate Admissions website.
Within the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy, graduate admissions are administered by Dr Rosie Ward (firstname.lastname@example.org), who is very willing to give informal advice to prospective students and put them in contact with members of the academic staff with appropriate interests.
MASt applications are also handled by the Board of Graduate Studies but have a different deadline.
