Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy building

The main access route is through the front entrance doors facing onto Charles Babbage Road.  There is step-free access though the main revolving door or via an auto-opening door to the immediate left of the revolving door, should users need wider hands-free access.  This auto-opening door is activated by our receptionist during office hours (there is a door bell if the receptionist does not see you arriving) and by swipe card out of hours for Department members.  The Reception, the Goldsmiths' Lecture Rooms and the Library are accessible on the same level as the reception area. Two passenger lifts to floors 2, 3 & 5, and Tea Room on the mezzanine level, are available at the west end of the building off the reception area. There is a disabled toilet located close by too - there are also disabled toilets on other floors. The lift at the east end of the building allows access to all floors.

Other aspects of accessability in and around the Department are found in the AccessAble guide for the building.
