Dr Mengfan Guo, Royal Society Newton International Fellow within the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy, has been awarded a Goldsmiths' Early Career Fellowship in Materials Science and Metallurgy by Churchill College.  The Fellowship will commence on in April 2025 and will run for 3 years. Mengfan is excited for the opportunity to continue working within the excellent research environment offered within the Department.  Mengfan is particularly interested in electrocaloric materials, especially polymers, that demonstrate reversible thermal changes in response to varying electric fields. They are promising working bodies for energy-efficient and eco-friendly heat pumps, and thus offer exciting scopes for the design of next-generation cooling devices.
