Commons Select Committee speech - 29 January 2019

Professor Rachel Oliver spoke to the UK's Parliament's Commons Select Committee about diversity in science last week, particularly in relation to the need for an inquiry into equality and diversity considerations in research council funding decisions.  The Science and Technology Committee created an open opportunity for the science community and the wider public to suggest science and technology areas for scrutiny in November last year.  The call information for My Science Inquiry can be found here: https://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/science-and-technology-committee/news-parliament-2017/my-science-inquiry-launch-17-19/.

Rachel's proposal was short-listed and she gave her 10 minute pitch on 29th January.  It is possible to see her speech on Parliament TV: https://www.parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/dd962700-5612-4bee-b2ec-543064e703cc?fbclid=IwAR00tAk-H3wPBXp27Fk3gyoGvuroyl8oAEk4kqby07vrzLgLVCOqmf6mn94
