29 March 2017

Dr Sohini Kar-Narayan and her group will be presenting their work at the Royal Society Science Museum Lates on the 29th of March 2017. Their exhibit, "Pocket Power Plant", will feature a range of really fun and interactive demos based on piezoelectric, thermoelectric and triboelectric energy harvesters. The group received funding to develop some new demonstrations for this, which they will also be showcasing at the Cambridge Science Festival.

The event in London promises to generate electricity from walking, exercising or even just fidgeting, and you can find out how harvesting energy from wasted movement, friction or body heat means your clothes could be the power plants of the future.
